Overview

The DCP Young Explorers Beginners Photography Workshop is an introductory program designed for young individuals who are new to photography and want to take their first steps into the creative world of image-making. This course focuses on building a strong foundation while keeping the learning experience simple, engaging, and enjoyable.

Participants will begin by understanding the basics of photography, including how cameras work, fundamental settings, and simple techniques to improve their images. The course emphasizes composition, observation, and creative thinking, helping participants learn how to see and frame better photographs in everyday situations. Through guided practice sessions, participants will also explore basic outdoor photography, gaining hands-on experience in applying what they learn.

This beginner-friendly workshop is designed to spark curiosity, build confidence, and develop a strong interest in photography, laying the foundation for more advanced learning in the future.

About The Workshop

This beginner’s workshop follows a simple and structured learning approach, helping participants move from understanding the basics to applying them confidently in real-world situations.

The first day session focuses on building a strong foundation by introducing camera basics, essential settings, and basic composition techniques. The next day session moves into practical outdoor photography, where participants apply their learning in real environments such as parks or urban spaces.

Each session is designed to be interactive and hands-on, with continuous guidance from mentors to ensure participants learn in a fun, supportive, and practical environment.

Caesar Sengupta

Founder And Director

Dr Caesar Sengupta is a globally acclaimed Wildlife Conservation Photographer, a National Geographic acknowledged educator, freelance writer and trainer. He is a Canon India EOS Maestro, a qualified MD Medical Microbiologist and is also the Founder Director of DCP Expeditions LLP, which is India's one of the largest Wildlife, Nature and Travel Photography Community Platform, operating since 2010 and now present in 21 cities across India. He conducts regular photography workshops and field expeditions across the country. He has travelled far and wide across Indian geography and beyond. He has the timeless distinction of having a frog species discovered in 2014 named after him - The Indosylvirana caesari also known otherwise as the Maharashtra Golden Backed Frog. Through his photography, he tries to depict the untold and unseen beauties of nature.

This course is a physical one happening in Mumbai. Mumbai is well connected with all cities via flights.

Itinerary

Day 1 - Fundamentals of Photography

Timings: 11:00AM to 05:00PM

Photography Fundamentals including exposure, camera settings, and understanding light. The session will also include Camera handling, lenses, accessories, advanced settings and composition techniques.

Day 2 - Practical outdoor session

Timings: 9:00AM to 12:00PM

Outdoor photography session focusing on applying the theoretical knowledge in practical shoots textures, and natural light.

This workshop is primarily for those who have ventured well into the world of photography and are now trying to learn cinematography well. So your basic knowledge of photography and exposure control is compulsory
