Embark on a thrilling 3 nights 4 days Wildlife Photography Masterclass Expedition to the Jhalana Leopard Conservation Reserve, Jaipur — India’s first leopard safari park and one of the best places in the country to photograph the elusive Indian Leopard in a semi-arid scrub forest.

Known for its high density of leopards and exceptional photographic opportunities, Jhalana offers a unique landscape filled with acacia trees, dry grasslands, and ancient temples where big cats roam freely. The tour includes 6 open gypsy safaris, with only 4 photographers per vehicle, allowing plenty of space and angle flexibility for serious wildlife photographers.

This masterclass is led by expert mentor from DCP Expeditions, focusing on techniques tailored for photographing leopards in their natural habitat — including tracking skills, working with natural light in arid zones, and fine-tuning your camera settings for fast action.

How To Reach

Reach Jaipur airport in the morning. 

Jaipur railway station is the nearest railway station. It is 13.5 Km from the park.

You can reach Jaipur roadways. 

Getting Ready

Things to carry:

  • Telephoto lenses – preferably above 300 mm
  • Carry fully charged batteries for your camera / flash.
  • Carry battery charger. Carry extra pack of camera batteries
  • Carry backup memory cards / HDD storage drives, Laptop
  • Carry a bean bag to stabilize your gears while shooting from safari vehicle
  • Carry a big towel / cloth to protect your gear from dust
  • Carry a big cloth / bandanna / scarf to protect you from the dust
  • Carry good sun glasses to protect your eyes from heat
  • Sun screens (above SPF 30) are very important
  • It is advisable to carry basic first aid along with you.
  • Please carry Odomos to keep you protected from mosquito bites.
  • Carry a pair of good binoculars

Itinerary

Reach Red fox Jaipur in the morning.  After breakfast join the team for a briefing on Jhalana, its ecosystem and biodiversity. This will be followed by introduction to gears for safari. Enjoy the lunch and join for the evening safari. In the evening participate in the informal interaction and assessment of your pictures that you made during the safari, followed by dinner.

Get up early to join the morning safari. We will come back to the hotel for breakfast. Take some rest. After lunch we will go for the afternoon safari. Image assessment. In the evening our mentor will do an assessment of your pictures that you made during the safari followed by dinner.

Morning safari. Back to hotel for breakfast. Take some rest. Freshen-up quickly at hotel and checkout for the forward journey.
