About The Tour

Join DCP Expeditions for a 1 night, 2 days Monsoon Wildlife & Macro Photography Boot Camp to Mamadapur, a unique photography experience that combines the beauty of Blackbucks roaming through monsoon wildflower meadows with the fascinating world of macro photography. During the rains, Mamadapur’s grasslands burst into bloom, creating spectacular natural settings for photographing one of India’s most graceful antelopes in vibrant floral landscapes.

Beyond its famous Blackbucks, Mamadapur transforms into a thriving habitat for a remarkable diversity of frogs, reptiles, insects, spiders, and other monsoon-special macro subjects. As daylight fades, participants will venture into the surrounding habitats to explore and photograph this hidden world, learning specialized techniques for low-light and nocturnal macro photography.

Led by a DCP Senior Photography Mentor, this boot camp is designed to help participants refine both wildlife and macro photography skills. Learn fieldcraft, animal behavior, composition, creative lighting, diffuser techniques, and ethical approaches to photographing wildlife in their natural habitats. The mentor will provide continuous on-field guidance, helping participants create striking images of both large mammals and the intricate details of the forest’s smaller inhabitants.

Whether you’re looking to photograph Blackbucks framed by blooming flowers, discover the incredible biodiversity of the monsoon season, or expand your portfolio with unique macro images, this expedition offers the perfect blend of wildlife photography, creative learning, and unforgettable field experiences in one of Karnataka’s hidden natural gems.

Mamdapur sanctuary is a silent and beautiful grassland with a varied biodiversity. It is not very well known in the wild-life lovers circle and DCP Expeditions has made a great effort in popularising this place through the strong and continuous efforts of mentor Sangram Govardhane. Sangram is a great photographer and a wonderful person. He has added astrophotography to the pack and given us novices a great bonus. Because of his patient guidance, I am now confident of doing more of astrophotography. The place itself has just basic facility for stay, but that is delivered with so much love and personal touch. Who cares for these issues anyway, when so many blackbucks are flying around you in such zest! Thank you DCPE and Sangram for a amazing weekend!
