Embark on a 3 nights 4 days wildlife photography expedition to Kanha National Park, one of the most picturesque and biodiversity-rich reserves in India. Known as the inspiration behind Rudyard Kipling’s The Jungle Book, Kanha is a dream destination for wildlife photographers and nature lovers alike.
This expedition with DCP Expeditions offers a thrilling opportunity to capture the majestic Royal Bengal Tigers, elusive Leopards, hard-ground Barasingha (Swamp Deer), and a wide range of birds, reptiles, and other mammals that inhabit the sal and bamboo forests of Kanha. The lush meadows, misty mornings, and golden light filtering through dense forests make Kanha a visual paradise for any serious wildlife photographer.
Participants will be mentored by experienced wildlife photography experts who will guide you on field techniques, composition, ethics of wildlife photography, and how to create compelling wildlife narratives. Ashutosh Shinde, based out of Mumbai, is a banker by profession and wildlife enthusiast by passion. A born nature lover, decided to pursue photography as a hobby after his visit to Gir National Park, Gujarat, India in 2013. Soon, this hobby, turned into serious passion. Ashutosh has been photographing various species in wilderness, which includes Mammals, Birds, Amphibians, Reptiles etc. He is always on lookout for making creative images having different perspective. He inclines more towards presenting his images in an art form. He has travelled extensively across various terrains in India and Africa, in search of those rare creative moments. His work has been recognized by leading international nature and conservation institutions like NGC, BBC Willife Magazine, iNaturalist.org etc. He has also exhibited his work on national and international forums. He is associated as a Panel Photography Expert and Consultant, Strategy Team DCP, Mumbai.
Read moreRecommended airport is Nagpur. Napur to Kanha distance is approximately 6 hours. Hence, if travelling by Flight, participants are requested to book flight appropriately to ensure that they reach Nagpur by 7 am.

Arrive at Gondia Railway Station / Nagpur Airport / Nagpur Railway station and our vehicles will be ready to receive you for your onward journey to one of the most beautiful forest of this planet, Kanha National Park. We are expected to reach our base camp at Chitvan Jungle Lodge. After a brief introduction of the participants at lunch, our group leader will provide a insight about the park and also run past through a quick round on basics of Wildlife Photography. Participant may have a quick round of equipment testing and small session of photography around the resort to ensure they are all set to hit the ground. We will soon get on with our first round in the park. In order to provide utmost comfort for photography, we have limited the occupancy upto only 4 photographers per jeep. Post the safari, we will discuss about the sighting while seeping on hot cup of tea/coffee. We will gather again once everyone is freshen up to discuss and review the images captured during the first round. Our Group leader will review the images and discuss in detail about the intricacies of wildlife photography. Dinner at the dining hall and we go off to sleep to ensure we are fresh next day morning for a second round.
Wake up call at 4:30 AM and we will meet at meeting area to hit the forest and witness the real beauty of Kanha unfolding the story of jungle book in its most scenic terrains of the forest. One more specialty of Safaris in Madhya Pradesh is to have breakfast in the middle of the forest. Safari ends at 11:30AM. On our return we will have discussion about our experience in the morning round and images clicked. Participants are free to take rest till lunch or can take a round in surrounding area. Lunch will be ready around 1PM, post which get ready for the third round of safari. We will spend evening discussing the stories of our journey so far. Enjoy dinner and off to sleep !!
Get ready and gather at meeting area around 5:30AM for morning Tea/Coffee session. Proceed to forest for the last round. Enjoy the forest and its inhabitants for the last time of this expedition. Come back to resort finish breakfast. Pack your bags and we will bid adieu to one of the most scenic park of India.
Cars will be ready to drop us at Railway Station / Airport. Trip ends here !!!

Please take a note that sighting of a Tiger and / or a good photography opportunity to capture it in an ideal frame is a matter of luck. Though the possibility of sighting is high but it can never be guaranteed in the wild.
