Itinerary

Arrive early morning by 5 am at Ramnagar. (Overnight Ranikhet express from Delhi to Ramnagar is ideal) our vehicles will take you to a resort on the banks of Kosi river. After the breakfast, we will check-into our rooms. We will explore the surroundings and visit the banks of Kosi River for some birding activities. We will plan and set the tone for the trip during a discussion over the breakfast and lunch, make a rough plan as to what we want to get in terms of images from the trip. Post lunch we will leave for our very first jungle Safari to Bijrani/Jhirana zone, both the zones are famous for the tiger sightings.

Overnight at the resort in Ramnagar.

We will travel to Dhikala today after breakfast and we should start from the resort by 9:00am. As we enter Dhangarhi gate at 10:00am, the adventure and wildlife safari to Corbett begins. The drive to Dhikala is 32 kms from the gate. We take a very slow and leisurely drive. We will be stopping at places on the way to photograph birds and landscapes. The Himalayan foothills are one of the natural wonders of the earth, with lush sub-tropical forests and the bountiful flora & avifauna that is a tribute to the nature lover and the photographer of the wild. The Dhikala Forest rest house has a fantastic setting overlooking the Ramganga reservoir and the opportunity to see wildlife in its natural habitat is immense. As you reach the rest house, take some rest and join the group for lunch. An evening Jeep safari to the grasslands called "Chaurs", for a chance sighting of the elusive Tiger- now the cynosure of every tourists' questing eye. Dhikala rest house is encircled by a solar fence for your safety - it is an unforgettable experience to sit out on your verandah and enjoy the wild sounds of the night.

Overnight stay at Dhikala Forest Lodge.

Corbett is a paradise for mammal aficionados and bird watchers alike and is one of the top locations in India to photograph animals in their natural habitat making it ideal to create the best storytelling images.

The settings in which elephants can be photographed here is unique to the place and shall give us some really unique images given the fantastic winter light which makes it possible to shoot throughout the day.

An early morning Jeep safari into the wilderness of Corbett and beyond, is the most promising way of tracking Tigers in Corbett besides other mammal species. An evening Jeep safari along the rippling Ramganga river, crossing the river at the Gathiarao fair-weather bridge to the Kanda range where Jim Corbett shot the famous Kanda man eater. The opportunity to observe & photograph wildlife in its prime habitat, is an experience one succumbs to without much hesitation.

Overnight stay at Dhikala Forest Lodge.

Early morning Jeep Safari in Corbett National Park, with its varied topography, diverse flora & fauna, the beauty of the meandering Ramganga river, the natural splendor of its landscapes, the park is a precious heritage. We explore the forest areas on our way back, with the possibility of seeing five species of Kingfishers, Pallas & Himalayan Grey headed Fishing Eagles, Osprey, Crested Serpent Eagle and of course the mammalia, the Safari is truly magical. Check out time is 1100 hrs.

As we leave Dhikala on our way out, this becomes our 8th Safari as we've had good experiences in the past on this road with respect to wildlife and it is highly recommended to travel with your photography gear handy. The unending stretch of the virgin Sal forests, the vast texture of massive trees, plumages of peacocks dragging the forest floor, the images of deer jumping across the forest track, all make a tour to Corbett Tiger Reserve a veritable paradise for the avid wildlife photographer.

After reaching Ramnagar our camp concludes. Corbett link express is ideal for our return journey from Ramnagar to Delhi.
