About The Tour

Embark on a mesmerizing 2 nights, 3 days guided travel photography expedition through the historical gems of Mandu and Maheshwar. Nestled in the heart of Madhya Pradesh, these timeless destinations offer a striking blend of Indo-Islamic architecture, fortresses, palaces, ghats, and devotional life along the sacred Narmada River.

Mandu (or Mandavgad) stands as a glorious ruin—once the capital of the Malwa Sultanate—known for its legendary love story of Rani Roopmati and Baz Bahadur, and its architectural marvels like Jahaz Mahal, Hindola Mahal, and Afghan Darwaza. Maheshwar, on the other hand, resonates with spirituality and elegance, showcasing Ahilyabai Holkar’s legacy, riverside temples, and exquisitely carved stone ghats.

This expedition is ideal for photographers passionate about capturing cultural narratives, ancient architecture, dramatic light play, and vibrant human elements. Under expert DCP mentorship, you’ll develop visual storytelling skills, improve composition, and gain hands-on experience in architectural and heritage photography.

Itinerary

Participants are requested to arrive in Indore by 10:00 AM. Pickup will be arranged from Indore station. From there, we drive to Mandu and check into our hotel by lunchtime. After a short rest, we begin our first shooting session at Jahaz Mahal and nearby structures, focusing on architectural compositions during the golden hour. The day concludes with an image review session and mentor interaction post dinner.

We begin early with a sunrise session at Rani Roopmati Mahal, Baz Bahadur’s Palace, and surrounding sites. The morning is ideal for capturing the mood of ancient Mandu in soft light. After breakfast and a brief break, we reconvene by 3:30 PM for an in-depth exploration of Hindola Mahal, Rewa Kund, and the fortified gateways — capturing textured walls, arches, and stories etched in stone. The evening wraps up with post-processing guidance and peer review.

After an early checkout, we drive to Maheshwar, arriving just in time for a beautiful riverside sunrise session. Explore and photograph Ahilya Fort, Narmada ghats, and bustling morning rituals. Capture the soul of Maheshwar’s living heritage as light dances on its steps and temples. We leave by 12:00 PM and reach Indore by 3:00 PM for drop-off at the station or airport.
