Experience the thrill of the wild in a 3 nights 4 days Wildlife Photography Camp at the legendary Ranthambore National Park, one of India’s most celebrated tiger reserves. Situated in the Sawai Madhopur district of Rajasthan, Ranthambore offers a perfect blend of dense forests, historic ruins, and rich wildlife, making it a dream destination for photographers and nature lovers alike.

This guided camp is designed to provide you with immersive wildlife experiences through multiple gypsy safaris led by DCP’s expert wildlife photography mentors. The park is famous for its high chances of tiger sightings, especially in Zones 1–6, along with opportunities to photograph leopards, sloth bears, sambar deer, chital, langurs, marsh crocodiles, and a variety of raptors and wetland birds.

Learn essential techniques of wildlife photography, including camera settings for fast action, framing, focusing, and storytelling through your images. With just 4 photographers in a jeep, the expedition ensures personalized attention and ample shooting space.

How To Reach

Those who are travelling by air, nearest airport is at Jaipur, which is approximately 162 km and can be covered in 3 hours by road. Innova or equivalent vehicle can be arranged at an additional cost for convenient pick up and drop.

Getting Ready

Things to carry:

  • Telephoto lenses – preferably above 400 mm, Wide angle lens. Being a full day expedition, carrying two set of bodies will be advisable.
  • Carry fully charged batteries for your camera / flash.
  • Carry battery charger. Carry extra pack of camera batteries.
  • Carry backup memory cards / HDD storage drives, Laptop.
  • Carrying a Tripod is optional.
  • Carry a big towel / cloth to protect your gear from dust.
  • Carry a big cloth / bandanna / scarf to protect you from dust.
  • Warm clothes, gloves for the chilly early mornings.
  • Sun screens lotions are very important.
  • It is advisable to carry basic first aid along with you along with your daily course of medicines (if any)
  • Please carry suitable mosquito repellants to keep you protected from mosquito bites.
  • Carry a pair of good binoculars.
  • Bean Bag

Do not worry if you don’t own any advance camera / super-telephoto lens as we now have an equipment support division. Equipment is available on rental - please mail us at rentals@dcpexpeditions.com.

Itinerary

Arrive at Sawai Madhopur Station. Our representative will be ready to pick you up from the station.

Those who are travelling by air, nearest airport is at Jaipur, which is approx. 162 km and can be covered in 3 hours. Innova or equivalent vehicle can be arranged at an additional cost for convenient pick up and drop. Participants are advised to take an early flight to Jaipur which will reach Jaipur not later than 8AM, so that we can reach Ranthambore by 12 noon or schedule a train which will reach Sawai Madhopur around 12 noon

On arrival at the resort, you will be allotted your rooms. Take some rest. We will meet at dining area for lunch around 1:30PM, alongside we will have an introduction session to get familiar with co-participants and some informal discussion about photography, gears to use etc. over the lunch. Our afternoon safari time in summer is 3:00PM to 6:30PM. We will leave resort anytime between 2:15PM to 2:30PM, hence get ready accordingly for the first safari post lunch. After we are back from safari, we will discuss the first round over a cup of coffee in lawn area.

Once get freshen up, we will again meet at dining area to review the images and discuss about some intricacies of Wildlife Photography. Enjoy the dinner and get back to bed to rise early for morning safari

Wake up call at 4:00am and we all will gather at dining area for morning tea/coffee at 5AM.

At 5:15 am, we will start towards forest gates for safari. Safari Will get over at 9:30AM. Breakfast at Resort. Enjoy the resort property and take rest. Lunch will be served around 1:30PM. Get ready for the afternoon safari at 2:15PM, jeeps will arrive between 2:00PM to 2:15PM. Safari at 3:00PM

We will have image review session and technical discussion on photography, composition etc. Dinner at 8:30PM. Off to bed to get ready for next day.

We will gather at dining area for morning Tea /Coffee at 5:00AM.

We will follow the same schedule of safari in Morning and Evening. We will conduct some session over digital image processing, general tips for resizing and composing images, selecting images for competitions and exhibition etc.

The final day with Tigers..

Wake up call at the same time. Today we will have one last round of safari today in the morning. Once we are back from the first safari, we will check out post breakfast.  Our expedition ends here and we return back with loads of memory!!

You’ll also learn post-processing essentials and image review techniques to improve your work after every safari.

Cost does not include:

  1. Tatkal zone upgrade charges: Safari permit zones are subject to availability via the Rajasthan Forest Department’s portal. Any additional charges for Tatkal booking or zone modification (approx. ₹2000 per person per safari) will be payable directly by participants.
  2. Airport/Railway station transfers: Pickup/drop from Jaipur Airport or Sawai Madhopur Railway Station is not included. The package cost is Ex Ranthambore.
  3. Personal expenses: Additional snacks/meals, bottled water, soft drinks, laundry, phone calls, etc.
  4. Insurance and medical coverage: Participants are advised to carry their own insurance. Medical or emergency expenses are not covered.
  5. Gratuities: Tips to guides, jeep drivers, hotel staff, etc., are not included.
  6. Anything not mentioned under ‘Inclusions’.

Please take a note that sighting of a Tiger and / or a good photography opportunity to capture it in an ideal frame is a matter of luck. Though the possibility of sighting is high but it can never be guaranteed in the wild.
