Tadoba National Park - Wildlife Photography Masterclass Expedition, Jan 2027

We begin before sunrise with tea or coffee before departing for our morning jeep safari at Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve. The early hours are particularly rewarding for wildlife photography, with softer light, active birdlife and opportunities to track predator movement through alarm calls, pugmarks and other signs within the forest.

Throughout the safari, the mentor will provide practical guidance on camera settings, autofocus techniques, exposure, composition and anticipating animal behaviour. The objective will be not only to photograph tigers but also to explore the diverse wildlife and photographic opportunities that make Tadoba one of India’s most popular tiger photography destinations.

After returning to the resort, we will have breakfast followed by time to rest, recharge batteries and back up photographs. Following lunch, we head out for our evening wildlife photography safari, exploring another section of the Tadoba landscape. The changing afternoon and evening light provides excellent opportunities for environmental portraits, backlit photographs and creative wildlife compositions.

We return to the resort after the safari. The evening may include an informal image review and discussion with the DCP Photography Mentor, followed by dinner and overnight stay.

Another early start takes us into the forests of Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve for our next morning safari. Every safari offers a different experience, with changing animal movements, light conditions and wildlife behaviour creating fresh photographic possibilities.

Participants will be encouraged to move beyond conventional wildlife portraits and experiment with creative wildlife photography, environmental compositions, behavioural images and visual storytelling. Particular attention will be given to anticipating action, choosing appropriate focal lengths, managing difficult light and creating photographs that communicate a stronger sense of habitat and behaviour.

After the morning safari, we return to the resort for breakfast and some rest. Participants can also discuss selected photographs with the mentor and understand how subtle changes in composition, camera settings and timing can improve their images.

Following lunch, we depart for another evening tiger and wildlife photography safari. This session will provide further opportunities to apply the techniques discussed during the expedition while searching for Tadoba’s tigers and other wildlife. We return to the resort after the safari for dinner and overnight stay.

Our final day begins early with the sixth and last jeep safari of the Tadoba Wildlife Photography Expedition. This final drive offers another opportunity to search for tigers, leopards, dholes, sloth bears, birds and other wildlife while putting the techniques learned over the previous days into practice.

Participants will focus on reading wildlife behaviour, anticipating action, refining compositions and responding quickly to changing photographic situations. Whether photographing a tiger moving through bamboo, a raptor taking flight or a quiet environmental portrait, the final safari provides an opportunity to consolidate the field skills developed throughout the expedition.

After the safari, we return to the resort for breakfast, freshen up and complete the check-out formalities. We then begin our journey back to Nagpur Airport or Railway Station, bringing the 3 nights 4 days Tadoba Tiger Photography Expedition to an end with a stronger understanding of wildlife photography, animal behaviour, field techniques and ethical photographic practices.
