Literally meaning “emerald,” Panna National Park is a hidden gem of Central India, drenched in natural beauty, rich culture, and timeless heritage. Nestled in the lap of the Vindhyachal ranges in northern Madhya Pradesh, this pristine wilderness is one of India’s prime tiger habitats and a must-visit destination for wildlife photographers. Fed by the lifeline Ken River, the landscape of Panna is defined by dramatic plateaus, deep gorges, and perennial waterfalls painted in striking shades of red, orange, and grey, all surrounded by lush green forests.
Once troubled, Panna National Park has made a remarkable conservation comeback and is now home to a thriving population of tigers, leopards, sloth bears, antelopes, and countless other species. It also supports one of the largest remaining populations of resident vultures in Central India and boasts over 200 species of resident and migratory birds, making it a paradise for wildlife enthusiasts and photographers alike. Ideal for tiger photography tours in India, Panna offers a rare combination of dramatic landscapes and extraordinary wildlife encounters.
Target Species: Bengal Tiger, Leopard, Sloth Bear, Chousingha (Four-horned Antelope), Nilgai, Sambar Deer, Chital, Indian Fox, Indian Wolf, Striped Hyena, Crocodile, Indian Vulture, Long-billed Vulture, White-rumped Vulture, Changeable Hawk Eagle, Crested Serpent Eagle, Painted Spurfowl, Paradise Flycatcher, and more than 200 species of birds including resident and migratory varieties.
