Itinerary

Arrive at Kochi Airport by 10:00 am. The group will travel together to Munnar, with the journey taking approximately three hours. Upon reaching Aranyaka Resort, check in to your respective rooms, freshen up, and gather for lunch in the dining area.

After some rest, meet at 5:00 pm for a detailed briefing by the DCP mentor covering the plan for the next three nights, the biodiversity of Munnar, and the possible photography opportunities. Those new to macro photography will also receive guidance on using flash and setting up a diffuser. Following the briefing, head out for the first evening trail to search for and photograph Munnar’s fascinating herpetofauna.

After an early breakfast, travel towards Meesapulimala in 4×4 jeeps, as the access route involves rocky, off-road terrain. The primary target for the day will be the Resplendent Shrub Frog, along with other amphibians, reptiles, and macro subjects found in the region.

Access to Meesapulimala and the day’s activities will depend on the prevailing weather and local conditions. After completing the photography session, return to the resort for lunch and some rest. In the evening, venture out for an immersive night trail and herpetofauna photography across Munnar’s biodiversity-rich habitats.

The daytime session will focus on searching for and photographing the Anaimalai Pit Viper, along with other fascinating macro subjects encountered in the surrounding habitats.
