Embark on a thrilling 2 nights 3 days macro photography masterclass expedition to the mystical Amboli Ghats, a biodiversity hotspot nestled in the Western Ghats of Maharashtra. Famed for its rich herpetofauna and endemic species, Amboli transforms into a macro photography paradise during the monsoon, offering an unparalleled opportunity to capture rare and elusive species in their natural habitat.
Led by DCP’s expert mentor, this expedition is meticulously curated to help participants learn and refine the art of macro photography, ranging from field craft and lighting techniques to subject behavior and visual storytelling. As the mist rolls over moss-laden rocks and tree canopies glisten with rain, photographers will explore dense forests and roadside microhabitats teeming with amphibians, reptiles, and invertebrates.
This is isn’t just about documentation, it’s about developing your signature style, understanding ecological context, and crafting impactful, conservation-driven visuals.

The first glimpse of the forest mesmerizes with a typical picture of a mystic rainforest with tall trees and their whispering canopies, creepers and climbers, with intertwining branches of trees with mosses hanging down and most of times made even more mysterious by the dense fog packed above the forest floor. Every corner of the forest is alive, below every little leaf, behind every dried bark and under every soaked rock, there is a life vibrating.

This was my first attempt at Macro. I found Caeser to be a very good instructor, he overcame my fear of snakes, and blended the entire group together. He made sure everyone got a chance to get their photos. Whistling Woods was a very comfortable stay and I did enjoy the food. I had a suggestions to improve on the overall experience: I thought the large diffusers were intruding on some subjects, maybe limit the size of diffusers. I am not an expert on this issue, this was an observation
