Join DCP Expeditions for an immersive 3-night, 4-day Wildlife Photography Masterclass in Assam, exploring Kaziranga National Park—a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its population of Great Indian One-Horned Rhinoceroses. Its sweeping grasslands, wetlands, and the floodplains of the Brahmaputra provide remarkable photographic opportunities featuring Asian elephants, swamp deer, wild water buffaloes, Royal Bengal tigers, and diverse birdlife.
Designed to refine your wildlife photography skills, the masterclass focuses on photographing large mammals, birds, landscapes, and wetland habitats under the guidance of an experienced photography expert. With a maximum of four photographers per safari vehicle, participants enjoy greater comfort, sufficient room for equipment, and improved shooting opportunities.
The expedition also includes a visit to Hoollongapar Gibbon Wildlife Sanctuary, home to India’s only ape—the Western Hoolock Gibbon. The sanctuary’s lush forests also support stump-tailed and pig-tailed macaques, capped langurs, and an impressive variety of rainforest wildlife, making it a rewarding destination for primate and nature photography.

Things to carry:
This expedition is organised in association with OM System India, and all participants will have access to some of the latest OM System cameras and lenses throughout the trip. However, if you prefer to use your own photography equipment, we recommend carrying the following:
Participants travelling from outside Guwahati are advised to arrive at Guwahati Airport by 8:00 am. From the airport, we travel by road to Kaziranga National Park and check in at the resort. Spend the evening relaxing, followed by an early dinner and a briefing about the expedition.
Kaziranga’s safari ranges offer distinct landscapes and wildlife-viewing experiences. Begin the day with a gypsy safari in the Western Range, where the grasslands, wetlands, and woodlands provide excellent opportunities to photograph rhinoceroses, elephants, wild buffaloes, deer, birds, and other wildlife.
Return to the resort for a traditional Assamese lunch and some time to rest. Later, depart for the afternoon safari, followed by an evening group discussion and photography review covering the day’s experiences.
Depart early in the morning for Hoollongapar Gibbon Wildlife Sanctuary, approximately two hours from Kaziranga. The sanctuary is best known for the Western Hoolock Gibbon and also supports stump-tailed macaques, pig-tailed macaques, capped langurs, barking deer, wild boars, giant squirrels, reptiles, and diverse birdlife.
After the morning photography session, return to Kaziranga for lunch before heading out for another evening safari. Return to the resort as dusk settles, followed by dinner and time to rest.
Begin the final day with a morning gypsy safari in Kaziranga. Depending on the confirmed permits and safari schedule, explore one of the reserve’s wildlife-rich ranges for further opportunities to photograph large mammals and birdlife.
Return to the resort after the safari and depart for Guwahati in the afternoon for your onward journey.
