Join DCP Expeditions for a professionally guided bird photography tour to Bhigwan, one of India’s most renowned winter birding destinations. Located about 100 km from Pune, Bhigwan is celebrated for its thriving population of greater flamingos that arrive each year, turning the waters into a spectacular sea of pink.
Over the course of three days, you’ll explore both the wetland zones of Kumbhargaon and Diksal — teeming with flamingos, spoonbills, storks, ibises, ducks, and gulls — and the adjacent grasslands, home to short‑eared owls, harriers, kestrels, coursers, and other grassland specialists. The combination of boat safaris and land‑based sessions ensures rich variety in perspectives, compositions, and lighting conditions.
Guided by your DCP wildlife photography mentor, you’ll learn to anticipate bird behavior, perfect exposure and framing, and practice ethical bird photography — all while discovering the ecological richness that makes Bhigwan one of western India’s finest avian hotspots.

The trip was well organized with pickup and drop from Mumbai. The mentor Yogesh is very knowledgeable and knows the area well as he has done multiple trips to Bhigwan. The grassland covered in this trip is the key higlight of Bhigwan and one should definately include it in trip to Bhigwan.
