Arrive at Kenneth Kaunda International Airport (KKIA), Lusaka, where a representative from our local team will warmly welcome you. After a brief orientation, enjoy a comfortable road transfer to Pioneer Camp, a tranquil property on the outskirts of Lusaka, nestled amidst Miombo woodlands. This is your time to unwind after the long flight, get introduced to the group and your DCP photography mentor, and prepare for the thrilling days ahead. Dinner and overnight stay at Pioneer Camp.
After an early breakfast, you’ll be transferred to Lusaka airport to catch your scheduled Proflight to Mfuwe. On arrival at Mfuwe airport, the gateway to South Luangwa … you’ll be met by our safari team and driven through the scenic Luangwa Valley to Wildlife Camp, your base for the next four nights. After check-in and a quick lunch, head out for your first evening game drive in the park. South Luangwa is renowned for its high density of big cats and dramatic golden light, setting the stage for spectacular photography right from day one. Return for dinner and overnight at Wildlife Camp.
For the next three full days, immerse yourself in the rich wilderness of South Luangwa National Park. Each day begins with an early morning game drive as the bush comes alive with activity — predators on the move, elephants crossing the Luangwa River, and raptors catching the first thermals. Return to camp for a hearty brunch, followed by rest and image reviews with your mentor.
Later in the afternoon, as the sun dips and the bush cools, head out again for the golden-hour and twilight game drives — ideal for capturing the warm light, dramatic contrasts, and nocturnal wildlife activity. With guidance from your mentor, you’ll refine techniques such as framing in complex habitats, low-light shooting, fast action photography, and behavioural storytelling. All meals and overnight stays at Wildlife Camp.
Enjoy a final morning game drive as the wilderness bids you farewell. After breakfast, check out and drive to Mfuwe airstrip to board your Proflight to Lusaka. Further catch your international flight to back home.
