Things to carry:

  • Carry a big towel / cloth to protect your gear from dust

Itinerary

Arrive at Windhoek, where you will begin your journey through Namibia and the Kgalagadi region. After completing the arrival formalities, travel approximately 50 km to Arebbusch Travel Lodge. The transfer is expected to take around 45 minutes, depending on traffic and road conditions.

Check in at the lodge and spend the remainder of the day relaxing after your journey. You may use the evening to settle in, organise your luggage and prepare for the road journey into the Kalahari the following morning.

Distance: Approximately 50 km
Driving Time: Approximately 45 minutes
Accommodation: Arebbusch Travel Lodge

After breakfast, check out and depart Windhoek for the long but scenic journey south towards the Kalahari. The route covers approximately 545 km and passes through Namibia’s expansive countryside, gradually revealing the open plains and semi-arid landscapes associated with the Kalahari.

The drive is expected to take around six hours, excluding stops along the way. Suitable breaks may be taken for refreshments, fuel and photography. Upon arrival at Kalahari Game Lodge, check in and take some time to relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.

Dinner will be served at the lodge, followed by an overnight stay in the Kalahari.

After breakfast, check out of Kalahari Game Lodge and continue towards Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park. The approximately 140 km journey is expected to take around two hours and 40 minutes, depending on road and border conditions.

The landscape becomes increasingly remote as you approach the park, with open spaces, red sand and sparse desert vegetation creating the distinctive character of the Kalahari. After completing the necessary entry formalities, proceed to Twee Rivieren Rest Camp.

Check in and settle into your accommodation for the next three nights. The remainder of the day may be used to become familiar with the camp, organise supplies and prepare for the following days inside the park.

Spend your first full day exploring Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park. An early start may offer favourable light for photography as well as opportunities to observe wildlife during the cooler hours of the morning.

Explore the park’s red dunes, open plains and dry riverbeds while looking for desert-adapted wildlife. Possible encounters may include antelopes, giraffes, smaller mammals, birds of prey and predators, although all sightings will depend on natural conditions and animal movement.

Return to Twee Rivieren during the day for rest and refreshments, if required. Later, continue exploring the surrounding routes during the softer afternoon light before returning to camp within the permitted gate hours.

Accommodation: Twee Rivieren Rest Camp

Enjoy another full day inside Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park. Begin early and explore a different route or revisit productive areas from the previous day. Wildlife activity can vary significantly, making each drive a different experience.

The park’s waterholes and dry riverbeds may provide opportunities to observe animals moving through the landscape. The open terrain can also offer rewarding environmental compositions, with wildlife framed against the red dunes and expansive Kalahari sky.

Take breaks during the warmer part of the day before heading out again in the afternoon. Return to Twee Rivieren Rest Camp in the evening for your final night inside the park.

Accommodation: Twee Rivieren Rest Camp

After breakfast, check out of Twee Rivieren Rest Camp and begin the return journey towards Kalahari Game Lodge. Depending on the departure time and prevailing conditions, there may be opportunities to observe and photograph wildlife while travelling through the park.

Complete the necessary exit and border formalities before continuing to the lodge. The approximately 140 km journey is expected to take around two hours and 40 minutes, excluding stops and formalities.

Upon arrival, check in at Kalahari Game Lodge and spend the remainder of the day relaxing after the journey. Enjoy dinner at the lodge and an overnight stay in the peaceful Kalahari surroundings.

After breakfast, check out of Kalahari Game Lodge and begin the return journey to Windhoek. The route covers approximately 545 km and is expected to take around six hours, excluding refreshment, photography and fuel stops.

Travel north through Namibia’s changing landscapes and arrive in Windhoek later in the day. Check in at Arebbusch Travel Lodge and spend the evening relaxing after the long drive.

This will be your final overnight stay before departure.

Check out of Arebbusch Travel Lodge and transfer approximately 50 km to the airport. The journey is expected to take around 45 minutes, depending on traffic and road conditions.

Applicable TCS (Tax Collected at Source):

As per Section 206C(1G) of the Income-tax Act, sellers of Overseas Tour Programme Packages are required to collect Tax Collected at Source (TCS) from the buyer. Effective 1 April 2026, TCS is applicable at a flat rate of 2% on the total value of the overseas tour package, irrespective of the package value. The earlier threshold of ₹10 lakh and the higher 20% rate no longer apply to overseas tour packages. The collected TCS will be deposited with the Government of India within the prescribed timelines. Please note that TCS is not an additional cost. It is an advance tax collected on your behalf and will be reflected in your Form 26AS / Annual Information Statement (AIS). You can claim credit for the TCS while filing your Income Tax Return, where it will be adjusted against your final tax liability or refunded, if applicable.

Any itinerary changes made for participant safety shall be binding. Any additional costs arising from such circumstances shall be borne by the participants, and no refund or compensation shall be payable for affected or unused services.
