Experience an unforgettable African safari tailored for serious wildlife photographers and naturalists. This expedition takes you through two of Tanzania’s crown jewels:
Ngorongoro Crater - A UNESCO World Heritage Site and the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera, it offers breathtaking photographic opportunities with its lush ecosystems and exceptionally high wildlife density. The crater floor is home to lions, elephants, rhinos, buffaloes, and leopards — all within a photogenic, bowl-shaped valley surrounded by ancient crater walls.
Serengeti National Park - From Central Serengeti’s open plains to the rugged beauty of the Northern corridor, this is where wildlife drama unfolds daily. October brings the thrilling calving season, when wildebeest, zebras, and antelopes give birth — a time when predators abound, and the photographic stakes are high.
This tour balances action-packed safaris with intensive field learning sessions under the mentorship of a DCP expert. Whether you’re capturing a lion’s roar at dawn or a leopard draped on an acacia tree, you’ll come home with compelling images and enriched photography skills.

Land at Kilimanjaro International Airport, where our representative will greet you outside the arrivals terminal. After a short safari briefing, we set out on a scenic drive to the Ngorongoro region, arriving at our lodge by late afternoon. En route, we pass through the vibrant highland town of Karatu, nestled at the base of the majestic Ol Deani Volcano. This colourful settlement offers a rich taste of rural Tanzanian life — from bustling markets and local breweries to nature trails leading to hidden waterfalls and caves. Karatu makes for a perfect cultural and scenic gateway to the wild expanses beyond. Overnight: Ngorongoro Lion’s Paw Camp (Full Board)
After an early breakfast, we descend into the famed Ngorongoro Crater for a half-day safari, with packed lunch to maximise time in the field. This UNESCO World Heritage Site, the largest intact volcanic caldera on Earth, is renowned for its spectacular density of wildlife — from rhinos and lions to zebra herds and wandering elephants. The crater floor’s varied terrain of soda lakes, grasslands, and forests offers diverse habitats teeming with photographic potential. In the afternoon, we return to the lodge for rest and an image review session. Overnight: Ngorongoro Lion’s Paw Camp (Full Board)
After a relaxed breakfast, we begin our journey to the world-famous Serengeti National Park. En route, we stop for lunch and enjoy an introductory game drive as we enter Central Serengeti. Our camp in the Ikoma region sits amidst open landscapes at the edge of the park, offering incredible access to wildlife and the migration routes. The area is surrounded by attractions such as Lake Manyara, Olduvai Gorge, and traditional Maasai communities, offering both wildlife and cultural richness. Overnight: Serengeti Sametu Camp (Full Board)
Today is devoted to photographing the wildlife-rich plains of Central Serengeti. Morning and afternoon safaris will take you through classic savannah settings dotted with iconic acacia trees. This region hosts some of the best predator sightings in all of Africa — lions on kopjes, cheetahs scanning the plains, and scavengers trailing herds of herbivores. It’s also a hotspot during the migration season, offering dramatic action sequences and quiet wildlife moments alike. Overnight: Serengeti Sametu Camp (Full Board)
We journey north into the remote and breathtaking landscapes of Northern Serengeti. Over the next three days, we explore this migration corridor through morning and evening safaris, focusing on the Mara River crossings and predator activity. This area, bordering Kenya’s Masai Mara, is the heart of the wildebeest migration in October. Herds gather at the riverbanks, and the tension-filled moments of crossing — often under threat from lurking crocodiles — offer once-in-a-lifetime photographic drama. The Northern Serengeti is also home to giraffes, elephants, buffalo, leopards, lions, and prolific birdlife. Overnight: Serengeti Wilderness Camp (Full Board)
After breakfast, we check out and proceed to the local airstrip for your flight to Kilimanjaro International Airport. Bid farewell to the Serengeti skies with memory cards full and stories for a lifetime.
