About The Photo Walk

The Maharashtra Nature Park Weekend Nature Photo Walk offers a wonderful opportunity to explore one of Mumbai’s unique urban natural habitats through the fascinating world of macro photography. Its rich vegetation, wooded trails and diverse green spaces provide an ideal habitat for a remarkable variety of insects, spiders, dragonflies, damselflies, butterflies, fungi, flowers and countless other tiny subjects waiting to be discovered.

During this guided morning walk, participants will slow down, observe nature more closely and learn how to transform small, often-overlooked subjects into compelling photographic stories. The focus will be on understanding natural light, creating clean backgrounds, mastering composition, and developing the patience and observational skills essential for successful macro photography.

Whether you are taking your first steps into macro photography or looking to refine your existing skills, this photo walk will help you discover an entirely new perspective on the miniature world thriving within Maharashtra Nature Park, Mumbai.

Getting Ready

Things to carry:

  • Your camera (Any camera of any make is fine)
  • Carry fully charged batteries for your camera / flash
  • Carry backup memory cards in case you run short of space
  • This involves considerable walking, physical fitness is essential
  • Carry your personal medications if you are on medication
  • Carry a water bottle, hat and some dry snacks / chocolates
  • Carry Odomos to keep you protected from mosquito bites
  • Carry a pair of good binoculars
  • Wear dull colored clothes, avoid bright colors
  • Smoking during the walk is strictly prohibited
  • Wearing masks is mandatory.
  • Social distancing needs to be followed.
