Dr Manaska Mukhopadhyay is a PhD in Earth Sciences from Jadavpur University and subsequently worked as a Project Researcher at the Earthquake Research Institute, The University of Tokyo. Currently, he serves as a Project Post-Doctoral Fellow at IIT Kanpur. In addition to his academic and professional work, Manaska is a passionate nature lover and wildlife photographer. During his stay in Japan, he explored the country's wilderness, capturing the beauty of its forests, wildlife and diverse ecosystems. Manaska is also drawn towards macro photography, with a focus on butterflies. At present, he is a core team member of the Wiki Loves Butterfly Project under Wikipedia, where he contributes to the collection and dissemination of photographs, information, and knowledge about butterflies to promote awareness and conservation. He is associated with DCP as a Mentor.
